Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of Nigeria-eligible players that were in action for their respective clubs in the English Premier League on Wednesday, December 27.
At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-1 with four players of Nigerian descent named in the matchday squads.
2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise, a product of the Chelsea academy, started and was in action for the entire duration of the game, while teammates David Ozoh and Tayo Adaramola were non-playing substitutes.
Both teams were level at the break as Olise canceled out Mykhailo Mudryk's thirteenth minute opener.
The France U21 international was a real threat all evening and was rewarded with a goal in the first minute of first half stoppage time when he lashed the ball past the goalkeeper.
In pursuit of a winning goal, Mauricio Pochettino made a couple of changes in the 71st minute, one of which saw Noni Madueke introduced as a replacement for Christopher Nkunku.
Crystal Palace academy product Madueke won a spot kick and had the coolness to dispatch it in the 89th minute to put Chelsea 2-1 up.
Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka missed out through injuries.
At the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford boss Thomas Frank could not count on the services of Frank Onyeka as his side were thrashed 4-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Super Eagles midfielder was ineligible to face Wolves due to disciplinary reasons having picked up his fifth caution of the season against Aston Villa on December 17.
Michael Olakigbe replaced Brentford's goalscorer Yoane Wissa with four minutes of regulation time remaining.
Mario Lemina, Hwang Hee-chan (2) and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde were the scorers for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
