Liverpool monitoring 2021 Super Eagles invitee as potential replacement for 2-time African POTY
Published: December 31, 2023
Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise who has been in superb form for Crystal Palace since last season.
According to Football Insider, the Reds have dispatched scouts to watch the Crystal Palace star who scored a brace for the first time in his career in Crystal Palace's 3-1 win over Brentford yesterday.
According to the report, Liverpool want Olise to replace two-time African Footballer of the Year, Mohamed Salah who is being touted to join a Saudi Pro-League side next summer.
It was also added that they have been monitoring the development of the talented forward since he made his debut for Reading, thereby establishing their long-term interest in him.
The France U21 international has just penned a new four-year deal with Crystal Palace having rejected a move to Chelsea in the summer but it is only a matter of time before he leaves Selhurst Park if he continues with his rich vein of form.
He is capable of playing in the number 10 position and from both flanks but the right wing is his best position and that is where he has been delivering the goods for the Eagles.
