Chelsea considering a move for La Liga striker as alternative to Victor Osimhen
Published: January 02, 2024
Chelsea are considering a move for Girona striker Artem Dovbyk who has been in scintillating form in the La Liga this term.
According to the Sun via Teamtalk, the London club is keen to bring the Ukrainian to Stamford Bridge in this window as a move for their long-term target, Victor Osimhen looks highly unlikely at this point
Dovbyk has been one of the pivotal players for Girona who has taken everyone by surprise in La Liga with their push for the title and has 11 goals and five assists in 17 matches this campaign.
He is under contract with the La Liga side till 2028 which would make him costly though not as much as Osimhen
Chelsea could make do with a player like the 26-year-old as they have continued to struggle for goals since the start of the season.
They have also been linked with Ivan Toney of Brentford, high-flying Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface, and a host of other names as they seek to get their attack more potent.
They currently sit in 10th position in the Premier League table, twelve points adrift of a position in the top four.
