2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise has been recognized for his outstanding performance during Crystal Palace's 3-1 win over Brentford in a London derby at Selhust Park on December 30, with BBC football pundit Garth Crooks naming the versatile winger in the Premier League Team of the Week.
Olise inspired Crystal Palace to a win over the Bees, netting his first career brace in the Premier League.
The France U21 international was in sensational form in the last four games played by Eagles, either scoring or assisting to help Roy Hodgson's team pick up five points from an available twelve.
In a 3-4-3 formation, Crooks' Team of the Week is dominated by Nottingham Forest who registered an impressive 2-1 win over Manchester United.
Nuno Espírito Santo's side have contributed four players to the Team of the Week namely goalkeeper Matt Turner, centre-back Murillo, midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and striker Chris Wood.
And completing the lineup are: defenders Max Kilman (Wolves) and Angelo Ogbonna (West Ham), midfielders Cole Palmer (Chelsea) and Phil Foden (Manchester City), forwards Hwang Hee-chan (Wolves) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
Explaining why Olise was picked in the Best XI, Crooks said: "The star of the show for Palace against Brentford was Olise, who scored two fabulous goals in an impressive 3-1 victory."
Olise's goals against Brentford and Chelsea are in the running for Crystal Palace's Goal of the Month award for December.
Other players nominated for the monthly accolade include 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ademola Ola-Adebomi, Danny Imray, Molly Sharpe, Asher Agbinone and 2017 Super Eagles invitee Eberechi Eze.
