Two promising teenagers of Nigerian descent have been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for December 2023.
Norwich City attacker Ken Aboh and Everton forward Francis Okoronkwo have been shortlisted for the monthly accolade following their impressive performances for their respective clubs last month.
The Canaries mustered ten goals in the month of December with Aboh accounting for three of those goals to take his tally in the Premier League to seven from nine appearances.
The 19-year-old bagged a brace in the 4-0 rout of Blackburn Rovers before netting from the spot in the first half of a 6-0 win hammering of Manchester City.
Okoronkwo was the standout performer as the Toffees thrashed Southampton 5-0, scoring a hat-trick, albeit two goals came from the spot.
Aboh and Okoronkwo are competing for the prize alongside Luke Harris (Fulham), Ryan Bartley (Derby County), Justin Hubner (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Callum Marshall (West Ham United) and Vicente Reyes (Norwich City).
The nominees were selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel, after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches in the month.
