Chelsea, through their official website, provided a fitness update on their players ahead of Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at the National Stadium in London,
The Blues have confirmed that two Nigeria-eligible players in the shape of Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu have been ruled out of the showdown at Wenbley.
Ugochukwu is sidelined due to a hamstring injury, while Chukwuemeka is still undergoing treatment for an ankle injury.
Chelsea stated that both players are 'continuing their rehabilitation program', effectively ruling them out of the final.
Neither Ugochukwu nor Chukwuemeka were spotted in the training images published by Chelsea on Friday, as the first-team squad trained at Cobham.
The France U21 international was an important squad member before hs injury troubles, with manager Mauricio Pochettino naming him in sixteen consecutive gameday squads.
This season, England youth international, Chukwuemeka has received ten call-ups from a possible thirty-four in all competitions due to fitness issues.
Chelsea reached the Carabao Cup final by beating AFC Wimbledon, Brighton & Hove Albion, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough, with Ugochukwu starting three games and Chukwuemeka making one appearance off the bench.
