As reported by the official website of the Italian Football Federation, two Nigeria-eligible players have been included in the Italy squad ahead of their friendlies against Venezuela and Ecuador.
Napoli-owned midfielder Michael Folorunsho and Tottenham fullback Destiny Udogie have been named alongside 26 others by Luciano Spalleti for their upcoming fixtures.
Folorunsho is being called up for the first time and is a reward for his good performances for Hellas Verona in the Serie A this term, featuring in 26 games and registering five goal involvements.
The 26-year-old is fast becoming a long-range goal specialist, scoring three goals from outside the box this year, the most in the top five leagues in Europe in 2024.
Udogie on the other hand is getting called up for the second time, featuring in back-to-back games for the Azzurri in their 2024 European Championship qualifiers against England and Malta last October.
The 21-year-old has been a mainstay in Tottenham's starting lineup this term, starting all Premier League games that he has been named in the matchday squad.
He will be hoping that he makes the final squad for the European Championship that will take place next summer.
