Official: Swedish club decide to loan out Ekperuoh after signing Chelsea goalkeeper
Published: March 26, 2024Dual-national glovesman Otega Ekperuoh found himself down the pecking order of goalkeepers after IF Brommapojkarna brought in Chelsea's Finland international Lucas Bergström on a temporary basis at the end of last month.
Through their official website, the Swedish Allsvenskan club announced on Tuesday, March 26 that the Swedish-Nigerian goalkeeper will be spending the entirety of the 2024 season on loan at Division One Norra team Täby FK.
Under the terms of the loan agreement, IF Brommapojkarna and Täby FK have agreed on an association cooperation where players can be entered on a list with double eligibility.
Throughout the forthcoming season, Ekperuoh will participate in matches and undergo training sessions with both Täby and IF Brommapojkarna.
Last season, the Swedish-Nigerian teenager received six call ups for Allsvenskan matches but was a non-playing substitute on each occasion.
The 19-year-old spent a portion of the 2022 season on loan at Division 2 club Enskede IK to get a taste of senior football.
Chelsea loanee Lucas Bergström did not feature in IF Brommapojkarna's last test game in preparation for the new season because he is away on international duty with Finland's U21 national team.
Ekperuoh was also absent from the gameday squad ahead of his loan move to the Swedish third tier side.
