'I'm talking about Chelsea, PSG' - Pundit names two teams that can afford Napoli star Osimhen
Published: March 29, 2024
Sky Sports pundit Luca Marchetti has named two teams that can afford 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner Victor Osimhen ahead of a possible departure from Napoli in the summer.
The next destination of the Super Eagles first choice striker is set to be one of the next talking points in the next transfer window with PSG, Manchester United, and Arsenal being linked with him.
With a huge release clause between €120m to €130m, there is uncertainty regarding the financial strength of the clubs that have been linked with him, particularly Arsenal.
Speaking to Radio Marte via spazionapoli on the future of the Super Eagles forward, Marchetti reckons that the Blues and PSG are the teams likely to have the financial capacity to sign him.
"If a club is really interested in signing Osimhen and knows that Napoli can hardly pay a salary of 10 million, does it offer 110 or 120 million?" he said.
"This is why playing roles or negotiations is important. I believe that today Osimhen could be worth around 100 million; There are few teams that can afford him but these teams might need a striker.
"I'm talking about Chelsea, PSG and there could be some other surprise team."
The mention of the Ligue 1 table toppers comes as no surprise as the club's pulse will be aided by the possible departure of record-top scorer Kylian Mbappé.
