Nwaneri takes part in final training ahead of Arsenal's biggest game of the season
Published: March 31, 2024Arsenal have concluded their preparations for Sunday's must-watch Premier League game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Arsenal's official website has dubbed the Manchester City v Arsenal clash as the 'biggest of our season so far'.
Fresh from signing his first professional contract, England U17 international of Nigerian descent Ethan Nwaneri was among the academy players called up to train with the first team in their final workout held at Sobha Realty Training Centre on March 30, 2024 in London Colney.
Nigeria-eligible youngsters Cam'ron Ismail, Ovie Ejeheri, Zac Shuaib and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, who have all trained with the Gunners first team this month, were not spotted in any of the training images, meaning they are unlikely to be named in the traveling squad to M11 3FF.
Nwaneri could see his chances of being named in the matchday squad increase if attack-minded duo Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli fail a late fitness test before the trip to Manchester.
Cap-tied England international of Nigerian descent, Saka pulled out of the England squad for their March internationals with Brazil and Belgium due to injury.
Nwaneri is enjoying an impressive campaign, registering seventeen goal involvements (14 goals, 3 assists) in fifteen appearances for the Arsenal teams.
This season, the 17-year-old has broken into Arsenal U21s setup while featuring in very important games for the U18s.
