Published: May 15, 2024
Ertuğrul Doğan, president of Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, has revealed the transfer fee requested by Southampton for Paul Onuachu.
Southampton have slapped a €15 million price tag on Onuachu (approximately ₦25 billion in Nigerian currency).
The Super Eagles striker has made a significant impact for Trabzonspor since joining on loan in September 2023, scoring 14 goals and providing 4 assists in 20 Super League matches.
His impressive performances have led Trabzonspor to pursue a permanent deal for the Nigerian international.
If the transfer goes through, Onuachu will become the most expensive signing in Trabzonspor's history, surpassing the current record held by Majeed Waris, who joined the club for €6.9 million.
Speaking to TRT Radio via Ntvspor, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan confirmed the negotiations with Southampton and expressed optimism about the deal.
The potential transfer will certainly generate excitement among Trabzonspor fans, who are eager to see Onuachu continue his impressive form in the Super League.
With the season ending soon, Trabzonspor are working to finalize the deal and bolster their squad for the upcoming campaign.
Trabzonspor are poised to make a significant investment in their squad, with Onuachu set to become a key player for the Turkish club if the deal is completed.
