Super Eagles fullback Osayi-Samuel makes decision on Fenerbahce future amid Wolves links
Published: May 31, 2024
Super Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel has made a decision on his future with Fenerbahçe amid Wolverhampton Wanderers interest in his services.
According to the Sports Digitale, Osayi-Samuel wants to stay with the Turkish outfit, which implies that he is not interested in leaving the club this summer.
The contract of the 26-year-old with the Yellow Canaries ends in the summer of the 2025, which means the club risk losing him on a free if he doesn't extend his stay.
In a bid not to lose the Nigerian fullback for free, Fenerbahçe have also offered a contract extension to him and with his intention to stay, an agreement on a contract extension might not be far away.
Osayi-Samuel played a key role for the Istanbul-based side as they finished second in the just concluded Süper Lig campaign with just three points separating them and champions Galatasaray.
The Blackpool Academy product enjoyed his most successful campaign in the Turkish topflight, recording six goal involvements in 23 games.
He was included in Whoscored.com's Süper Lig Team of the Season alongside his international teammate Paul Onuachu who also impressed with Trabzonspor.
With the reported decision of the Nigeria international to stay with Fenerbahçe, he could play under former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho who has a verbal agreement with the Turkish side to become their next manager.
