Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay N136.2b to sign Super Eagles-eligible striker

Tottenham Hotspur have learned the asking price for Super Eagles-eligible attacker Dominic Solanke, who continues to be linked with a departure from the Vitality Stadium in the last month of the summer transfer window.
According to Daily Express, via Sky Sports UK, Tottenham Hotspur have been informed that they will have to meet Dominic Solanke's £65m (approximately N136.2 billion in Nigerian currency) release clause if they want to acquire the Bournemouth striker this summer.
The one-cap England international was the standout player for the Bournemouth team in 2023-2024, scoring nineteen goals in 38 Premier League matches, far exceeding his figures in his previous seasons in the English top flight.
Manager Ange Postecoglou intends to bolster the attacking options at Tottenham, with Solanke a player of interest.
However, the north London club fear they could be priced out of a deal as Bournemouth have insisted that the striker's valuation must be met.
Solanke scored plenty of goals during his youth team career at Chelsea and the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup Golden Ball winner has always been considered as a forward who could hit double digit figures for goals in the Premier League, but it was not until the arrival of Andoni Iraola that he really exploded into life.
On the back of Solanke's impressive form, there was clamour for him to be included in the England squad to the 2024 European Championship, but he was behind the likes of Harry Kane, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney in Gareth Southgate's pecking order of center forwards, so wasn't called up.
The 26-year-old has a contract with Bournemouth until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
