Versatile Nigerian forward Andre Annous continued his fine start to the season by scoring a brace as Arsenal defeated Liverpool 5-3 in an U18 Premier League Cup fixture at Liverpool’s Academy Ground, Merseyside on Wednesday, August 28.

Dan Casey doubled the Gunners lead from the penalty spot at minute 35 and Annous scored another close range effort a minute later to take his goal involvements to five in the new season.
After Josh Sonni-Lambie pulled one back from the penalty spot, Nigerian defender Louis Enahoro-Marcus further reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute.
Bailey-Joseph curled a beauty into the top corner to make it 4-2, assisted by Flying Eagles-eligible player Zac Shuaib, in the 70th minute.
With around fifteen minutes to go, Fola Onanuga found the net via a deflection but Dowman restored Arsenal's two-goal lead in the 85th minute.
Apart from Annous and Shuaib, Ifeoluwa Ibrahim, Samuel Onyekachukwu and Jayden Adetiba were the other Nigerian players that featured for Arsenal.
