Everton plotting move to sign Super Eagles forward in the January transfer window
Published: October 20, 2024
English Premier League outfit Everton are plotting a January move for Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze, according to Football Insider.
Chukwueze, known for his blistering pace and direct running, is said to be a target for manager Sean Dyche as he seeks to bolster his attacking options.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a successful spell with Villarreal in Spain, racking up 37 goals and 31 assists in 207 all-competition appearances before switching to AC Milan in the summer of 2023.
At AC Milan, Chukwueze has struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup, so much so that he continues to be linked with a departure from the Rossoneri despite having a valid contract until June 30, 2028.
His electric performance against Udinese on Saturday at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, where he provided the game's only goal, served as a stark reminder of his talent.
The Toffees have reignited their interest in the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner after missing out on his services prior to his move to the Rossoneri but are aware that it will be difficult to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
Everton believe Chukwueze's attacking prowess aligns perfectly with Dyche's desire for a more dynamic approach in the final third.
Apart from the Nigerian, Everton are also considering a move for Bologna's Argentina U23 international, Santiago Castro.
