Everton old boy Iwobi scores in his last ever PL game at Goodison Park as Fulham held by Toffees

Everton are now undefeated in five successive games in the English Premier League after snatching a point in a 1-1 draw with Fulham at Goodison Park on Saturday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
For the last time in his footballing career, Everton old boy Alex Iwobi played at Goodison Park in a Premier League fixture, and he was joined in the starting lineup by fellow Nigeria international Calvin Bassey.
Everton Stadium, still under construction on Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool, England, will become the home ground for the Toffees ahead of the 2025–2026 season, replacing Goodison Park.
The first half was a cagey affair with the scoreboard reading goalless at the interval, though Iwobi had a chance to break the deadlock but volleyed over after he was teed up by Raul Jimenez just before halftime.
In the 61st minute, Iwobi opened the scoring when he found the bottom corner after an outstanding run from his former Arsenal teammate Emile Smith Rowe.
After his brilliant finish, Iwobi refused to celebrate against his former club, where he spent four years before transferring to the Cottagers in the summer of 2023.
Seeking to protect his side's lead, Fulham manager Marco Silva withdrew his goalscorer Iwobi, a decision that saw central defender Jorge Cuenca enter the game as a substitute in the second minute of stoppage time.
Iwobi, looking on from the bench, would be disappointed the Cottagers were denied all three points in the 94th minute when super-sub Beto powered home a header to salvage a draw for the Toffees.
The Hale End Academy graduate has now registered eleven goal involvements in 44 all-competition appearances since returning to London.
