'Favourite player' - Pundit has an update on the future of Ola Aina amid Galatasaray, Man City links
Published: January 19, 2025
Turkish transfer expert Süleyman Rodop has provided fresh insight into Ola Aina's contract situation at Nottingham Forest as speculation grows over the defender's future.
Aina's current deal with Forest is set to expire in the summer, and while the Premier League club is keen on extending his stay, the Nigerian international appears to be taking his time before putting pen to paper.
The former Chelsea player has been enjoying a stellar season with Forest, featuring prominently in their push for a top-four finish.
His performances have attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Turkish giants Galatasaray and Manchester City.
Rodop, speaking to Ajans1905 and quoted by habersarikirmizi, shed light on Aina's stance regarding his contract renewal.
"The conditions for Ola Aina were asked. The player's contract expires in June and the player stated that he will wait for this period," Rodop disclosed.
Despite interest from Galatasaray, Rodop expressed doubts about the likelihood of Aina moving to Turkey and suggested that the Nigerian defender is likely to remain in England.
"There is no possibility of this transfer taking place as he is England's favourite player," Rodop added.
Aina has been in fine form this season, scoring two goals in 21 league appearances and cementing his place as a key player for Nottingham Forest.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Aina's decision could significantly impact Forest's plans, especially as the club eyes a historic top-four finish in the Premier League.
