Southampton in advanced talks to sign Nigerian forward who shares same agent as Aribo
Published: February 03, 2025
English Premier League club Southampton are in advanced talks to sign Royal Antwerp's Nigerian forward Victor Udoh.
Transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Royal Antwerp and Southampton have reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the 20-year-old forward.
Udoh is represented by Emeka Obasi of Elite Project Group, who also handles the affairs of Southampton players Joe Aribo and Princewill Ehibhatiomhan as well as former Saints player Roméo Lavia.
Having spent the formative years of his career at TBC Football Club and Hypebuzz FC in his homeland, Udoh transferred to Royal Antwerp in the summer of 2023.
Since making his first team debut against Charleroi in January 2024, Udoh has logged 28 appearances in all competitions for Antwerp.
Antwerp coach Jonas De Roeck lost his patience with Udoh, sending him to the reserves last December.
The young Nigerian forward was not called up for the last six games contested by Antwerp in the Jupiler Pro League.
Although he did not manage to find the net in his senior appearances for the Antwerp club, he demonstrated his goalscoring prowess with 12 goals in 27 matches for the Young Reds in the 1ste Nationale.
