Australia's record appearance maker hails Tosin's impact in Chelsea's win over Southampton

Australia's record appearance maker with 109 caps, Mark Schwarzer has lauded Tosin Adarabioyo’s contribution to Chelsea’s dominant 4-0 victory over Southampton, particularly his role in the opening goal.
Despite the return of Wesley Fofana from injury, Tosin was trusted to start alongside Levi Colwill in the heart of Chelsea’s defense, and he repaid that faith by assisting Christopher Nkunku’s opener.
The 27-year-old defender flicked a corner kick towards the back post, where Nkunku reacted quickly to divert the ball into the net.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Schwarzer commended Tosin’s decisive involvement in the goal.
"It wasn't the best of corners but it is crucial that Chelsea win the first contact, there is a flick on to the far post and Christopher Nkunku is the quickest to react."
"Aaron Ramsdale comes across to make the block but is a little bit late and it's a brave diving header from Nkunku," Schwarzer said.
Tosin, who joined Chelsea as a free agent last summer, has experienced a mixed season with the Blues.
Although his minutes in the Premier League were somewhat limited until mid-December, he has made significant contributions both defensively and offensively.
Prior to this assist, the former Manchester City defender had already scored four goals in 22 matches across all competitions.
Having represented England at various youth levels, Tosin remains eligible to play for the Nigerian national team.
