Insider provides update on Lazio's Dele-Bashiru that would be sweet music to Eric Chelle's ears

Lazio insider Giulio Cardone has shared an injury update on Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru's that would be sweet music to the ears of Eric Chelle ahead of his first squad announcement as Super Eagles coach.
Dele-Bashiru, who joined Lazio last summer, sustained an ankle injury during a goalless draw against Venezia.
As a result, he has missed two crucial games, including the Coppa Italia fixture against Inter Milan and a Serie A clash against AC Milan.
His absence has raised concerns over his availability for Lazio's UEFA Europa League clash against FC Viktoria Plzeň on Thursday.
Providing an update on radiosei.it, Cardone expressed optimism about the midfielder’s recovery.
"From what they told us last night, Marusic should have a bruise on his right knee, there is hope that it is something superficial," Cardone said.
"If that were the case, he would only be at risk for the Europa League match against Viktoria Plzeň.
"Castellanos has been doing differentiated training for a few days, be careful. It is a different story for Hysaj, who will return after the break. Dele-Bashiru could recover as early as Thursday."
Dele-Bashiru’s absence would be a significant blow for Lazio, given his impressive Europa League form, with two goals and two assists in six matches.
The Nigerian international is also hoping to regain full fitness ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
