Ademola Lookman hits milestone goal for Atalanta in 4-0 rout of Juventus
Published: March 10, 2025
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was on target as Atalanta secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.
Lookman, who has been a standout performer for Atalanta, scored the fourth goal of the match after efforts from Mateo Retegui, Marten de Roon, and Davide Zappacosta had already given the visitors a commanding three-goal lead.
With this strike, Lookman reached a significant milestone, recording 50 goals for Atalanta across all competitions.
In total, he has now scored 50 goals and provided 22 assists in 109 matches for the Italian club.
This season alone, the Nigerian international has been in sensational form, netting 18 goals and delivering seven assists in 31 appearances.
His consistent performances have been instrumental in Atalanta’s rise, keeping them in the Serie A title race.
Lookman’s journey with Atalanta has been remarkable, especially after a challenging spell at RB Leipzig, which saw him sent on loan to Fulham and Leicester City.
Since joining the Bergamo-based side in 2022, he has played a key role in their success, including a historic UEFA Europa League triumph, where he scored a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
With this latest victory, Atalanta moved up to third in the Serie A standings, now just three points behind league leaders Inter Milan.
Lookman’s outstanding performances have also earned him a place in Nigeria’s 39-man provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will be hoping the forward maintains his current form to help Nigeria secure crucial victories in their qualification campaign.
