After receiving three call-ups for La Liga games last season, Ogbuehi joins KV Kortrijk

With a statement on the official website, Belgian Challenger Pro League club K.V. Kortrijk have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Sixtus Ogbuehi.

The 22-year-old has joined K.V. Kortrijk on a permanent deal with Spanish Primera Federación – Group 2 outfit CD Eldense.

He has signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the Guldensporen Stadium until June 2028 .

Ogbuehi spent the second half of last season on loan at La Liga team Osasuna but did not debut for their first team.

He received three call-ups for La Liga games but was not utilized off the bench in wins against Girona, Real Valladolid and Sevilla.

The forward joined CD Eldense in the summer of 2024 from AD Ceuta FC. 

After making six appearances in LaLiga2 and featuring once in the Copa del Rey, he was loaned out for the remainder of the season in search of more playing time.

He leaves Eldense having played 18 matches in the Primera Federación, where he registered four goals and four assists.

A product of Campos FC, Ogbuehi has also worn the colours of CP Montehermoso and Moralo.

Nigeria Football Federation's technical director Augustine Eguavoen, as well as Imoh Ezekiel, Terem Moffi and Oladimeji Lawal, are all former players of K.V. Kortrijk.
