WSL opening day fixtures: Payne's Everton to face Liverpool, Nnadozie's Brighton at home to Villa
Published: July 25, 2025
The Women's Super League has released the full fixture list for the 2025-2026 season, confirming the dates and matchups for all the game games via its official website.
Now in her second season with Everton, versatile Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne and her teammates will begin their season with a Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Anfield on September 7.
Payne, who joined the Toffees last summer from Sevilla, appeared in 22 games over the course of the 2024-2025 campaign, including sixteen starts.
The 30-year-old registered six goal involvements (1 goal, 5 assists), while logging 1,374 minutes.
Payne missed the start of pre-season training due to international duty with the Super Falcons at the ongoing Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
Brighton & Hove's summer signing from Paris FC, Chiamaka Nnadozie is in contention to make her competitive debut for her new employers on Sunday, September 7 when they welcome Aston Villa to Broadfield Stadium.
The two Nigerian internationals will temporarily set aside their friendship on September 28 when Brighton host Everton in the WSL, with the reverse fixture scheduled for January 25, 2026.
Nnadozie has been ever-present between the sticks for Nigeria at the ongoing Women's Africa Cup of Nations, playing every minute of the tournament so far.
The dependable goalkeeper is yet to concede from open play as the Super Falcons prepare for Saturday's highly anticipated final against hosts Morocco.
