Osimhen marks first start of the season with goal for Galatasaray in thrashing of Kayserispor
Published: August 24, 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored his first goal of the season as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-0 victory over Kayserispor at the Kadir Has Stadium on Sunday night.
Osimhen, who sealed a permanent move to the Yellow-Reds this summer after a record-breaking loan spell, made his first start of the campaign and found the back of the net in the 86th minute.
The Nigerian forward calmly tapped in a delivery from Nicolò Zaniolo to register Galatasaray’s third goal of the evening.
Meanwhile, Turkish fullback Evren Eren Elmalı had earlier opened the scoring in the 36th minute before doubling the advantage shortly after the restart.
Osimhen extended the lead late on, and Sané rounded off the emphatic win with a fourth in stoppage time.
The 26-year-old striker enjoyed a sensational loan spell at Galatasaray last season, netting 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
His remarkable contributions powered the Istanbul giants to a domestic double, lifting both the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup titles.
Now with a permanent deal secured, Osimhen will look to replicate his prolific form and help Galatasaray chase success both in Turkey and on the European stage this season.
