Confirmed: After three loan spells, Super Eagles forward Dennis leaves Nottingham Forest for good

With a statement on the official website, Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Premier League club following the mutual termination of his contract.

Dennis is now a free agent and can join a new club even after the close of the summer transfer window.

The Super Eagles star joined Forest in August 2022 after an impressive debut Premier League campaign with Watford, where he registered 10 goals and six assists in the 2021–22 season.

His arrival was met with high expectations, but he struggled to reproduce that form in Nottingham.

Over three seasons with Forest, Dennis made just nine starts across all competitions and 16 further substitute appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

In search of regular football, he spent loan spells at Istanbul Başakşehir, a return stint at Watford, and most recently Blackburn Rovers during the second half of the 2024–25 campaign.

His lack of consistency at club level has also impacted his international career, with his last appearance for Nigeria coming in a friendly against Portugal in November 2022.

A product of the Kwara Football Academy, Dennis began his professional career in Europe with Zorya Luhansk before moving to Club Brugge and later having a brief spell at Cologne.

He joined Watford in 2021 and enjoyed immediate success, earning a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award in November of that year.
