Super Eagles watch: Paris FC's Moses Simon, Trabzonspor's Onuachu find the net
Published: September 01, 2025
Super Eagles attackers Moses Simon and Paul Onuachu were both on target for their respective clubs in Europe on Sunday, August 31.
Simon, who joined newly promoted Paris FC in the summer, continued his fine start to life in France by scoring and assisting in a thrilling 3-2 win over Metz at the Stade Jean-Bouin.
Metz had taken an early lead through Sadibou Sane before Ilan Kebbal equalised from the spot.
Simon then turned provider in the 52nd minute, setting up Kebbal for his second of the night to put Paris FC ahead.
Although Boubakar Traore levelled matters for Metz, Simon restored Paris FC’s advantage in the 67th minute, calmly slotting home after a neat assist from Maxime Lopez.
The Nigerian international was later substituted in the 90th minute to a standing ovation, with Nouha Dicko replacing him.
The 30-year-old winger has now registered two goals and one assist in just three league appearances for Paris FC, underlining his importance to the club’s survival push.
In Turkey, Onuachu also made the headlines as Trabzonspor played a 1-1 draw against Samsunspor at the Papara Park on Sunday night.
The lanky striker, who completed a permanent move from Southampton in the summer, scored the opener in the first half with a flying header, expertly converting Oleksandr Zubkov’s pinpoint cross.
However, Marius Mouandilmadji equalized for the visitors with a few minutes to the end of the match.
The victory lifted Trabzonspor to second place in the Turkish Super Lig with 10 points from four matches, trailing leaders Galatasaray, who maintain a perfect record.
