Eight Nigerians including Uche named in Crystal Palace's Conference League squad
Published: September 04, 2025
Crystal Palace have confirmed their UEFA Conference League squad for the league phase of the competition following the close of the summer transfer window, with eight Nigeria-eligible players making the cut.
Among them is Nigeria international Christantus Uche, who sealed a deadline-day move to Selhurst Park.
The versatile midfielder has been registered on List A, which contains 25 players, and is set to wear the number 12 shirt should he make his European debut against Dynamo Kyiv on October 2.
In addition, UEFA regulations allow clubs to register an unlimited number of players on List B, which can be updated on the eve of each fixture.
According to UEFA's regulations, a player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2004 and has, since his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year.
Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption.
Academy prospects of Nigerian descent Oreoluwatomiwa Sean Somade, Jemide Eyimofe, Jacob Fasida, Oluwaremi Shittu, Daniel Owoade, Chukwunonyelum Okoli and Asher Agbinone have been registered on Crystal Palace's List B.
Crystal Palace have been drawn to host AZ Alkmaar of the Netherlands, Finland’s KuPS Kuopio and Cypriot side AEK Larnaca at Selhurst Park, while their away fixtures will see them take on Dynamo Kyiv in Poland, RC Strasbourg in France and Shelbourne FC in the Republic of Ireland.
