Official: Talented Nigeria-eligible forward agrees to join Arsenal in January 2027
Published: October 03, 2025
Arsenal have confirmed an agreement to sign 16-year-old Nigeria-eligible forward Victor Ozhianvuna from Shamrock Rovers, with the transfer set to be completed in January 2027, when he turns 18, the official website revealed on Friday.
The young attacker has already made a notable impact at senior level, appearing in 16 first-team matches across all competitions since his debut earlier this year.
Ozhianvuna became the second-youngest player to feature in the UEFA Conference League in February, coming on as a substitute in Shamrock Rovers’ second-leg intermediate stage clash against Molde.
He scored his first senior goal soon after, netting in an FAI Cup second-round victory over Wexford FC, showcasing his technical skill and composure in competitive fixtures.
A Republic of Ireland youth international, Ozhianvuna has made nine appearances between the under-15 and under-18 levels, establishing himself as one of Ireland’s most promising talents.
His performances have attracted attention from European scouts, prompting Arsenal to act swiftly to secure his signature.
As part of the club’s strategy to invest in elite young talent, Ozhianvuna will continue developing at Shamrock Rovers until his 18th birthday, gaining valuable first-team experience.
He has already impressed in the League of Ireland Premier Division and on the European stage.
The transfer is subject to regulatory approval, with all parties working to complete the deal efficiently.
