Exclusive: West Ham Target YAKUBU AIYEGBENI
Published: May 20, 2012
The Hammers 2-1 last gasp victory over Blackpool means there are funds available for Coach Sam Allardyce to spend in the summer transfer market.
Part of Allardyce's transfer kitty will be used in the acquisition of a striker, with the 29-year-old Nigerian his preferred choice to lead West Ham's attack in the 2012 - 2013 season.
According to sources close to Yakubu Aiyegbeni, there has been contact between West Ham and the representatives of the Blackburn Rovers forward, who commands a transfer fee of around five million pounds.
West Brom, Queens Park Rangers and Reading are also reportedly interested in Aiyegbeni, who scored 17 goals for Blackburn this past season, but could not save the side from relegation.
