Exclusive: OBINNA OBIEFULE Misses =N=90 Million Deal With ES Setif
Published: August 30, 2012
Malta based striker Obinna Obiefule has revealed to allnigeriasoccer.com that he missed out on a summer move to Algerian giants ES Sétif.
With less that 48 hours before the close of the transfer window, Obiefule has admitted that he could remain a player of Mosta until January when the market re-opens.
''I signed a pre -contract with Setif but Mosta failed to sanction the move. Setif were willing to part with 40, 000 euros as transfer fee but Mosta wanted 100,000 euros. Before then, I was offered a two - year contract by the Algerian club with annual wages of 220, 000 euros.
''It could be that I would remain with Mosta for now. I know the market for most countries in Europe officially closes tomorrow. But some windows are still open until middle of September, if nothing happens, then I move in January. I am still discussing with clubs in Belgium, Israel and Turkey,'' says Obiefule to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Obiefule topped the goalscoring charts last season with 34 strikes, which is a record in Malta's Premier League. He opened his season account for Mosta in last weekend's 1-3 loss to champions Valletta.
