Exclusive: DERICK OGBU Speaks On Hat-trick Against Sporting Charleroi

Oud-Heverlee Leuven attacker Derick Chuka Ogbu has ended his goal drought, and he did it in style by scoring his first hat-trick in the Belgian League, against Sporting Charleroi in the 10th round of matches.
In an interview with allnigeriasoccer.com shortly after the game at Stade du Pays de Charleroi (Charleroi), 22- year -old Ogbu is delighted to end his barren spell.
Congratulations on your hat - trick Derick. What was on your mind when you were experiencing a goal drought?
Derick Ogbu: ''I am so glad to have scored my first hat-trick in the Jupiler League. Scoring goals as a striker gives you extra confidence, so I am excited scoring 3 goals and assisting 1 goal. To be honest, it has been a difficult period, but am glad I didn't feel much pressure because the coach and the fans believe so much in me, they were so encouraging and supportive during this period, my team mates where also great to me. We should learn to be brave and patient, the best remedy for troubles we are facing.''
So what are you going to do with the match ball in your possession?
Derick Ogbu: ''I did not get the ball, I left it with the officials. It wasn't in my mind to ask for it.''
What is your target number of goals this season?
Derick Ogbu: ''Last season I scored 10 goals in my debut season, even though I missed a lot of games due to injuries. So this season I am happy I am fit again, hopefully I will score more goals to help the team. I don't have any specific target for now''.
Who are you dedicating these three goals to, and why?
Derick Ogbu: ''I dedicate the goals to the fans, they have been so fantastic and amazing, even in such a difficult time they arestill yelling my name, hoping that I score, so I dedicate the goals to them.''
Finally, Only 2 points separate from OHL from the play-off spots, what is the team's target this season?
Derick Ogbu: ''It is still early but we have a target to qualify for the play-offs. Hopefully, if we keep the concentration and spirit high, we shall finish in the top 6 on the league table.''
