Published: April 19, 2013
The management of Ibadan based soccer school Frenage Soccer Academy has attributed the delay in their much expected movement of the first batch of their players to the new branch of the academy in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus to bad weather in Europe.
Addressing newsmen in Ibadan, the CEO of the firm Prince Oluwole Ololade stated that the Director of Sports in Belarusian
football federation, Alexandr Genadyevich who is their link man told them to defer their trip till end of April due to the acute cold that they were presently experiencing in the country.
''Our man in Minsk, Alexandr Genadyevich, a Director in Belarusian Football Federation has warned us against bringing African players that were not used to such weather into the country now in a winter season.
''It will have adverse effect on their health and their performances,'' Ololade noted.
He added that the difficulties they faced in convincing European based football scouts to come for talents in Africa necessitated the establishment of the Europe branch of the academy which has all the facilities which include football pitch and decent accommodation.
He also hinted that the 2nd phase of residential soccer course as commenced for their new in-takes and there is still room for admission of any interested aspiring footballers.
