Against Tahiti on Monday in Nigeria's opening match at the Confederations Cup, the Super Eagles lacked support.
Chelsea midfielder Obi Mikel does not want that trend to continue in tomorrow's encounter with Uruguay and has pleaded for the locals to support Nigeria.
Sportv.globo.com quoted Mikel as saying: ''I hope everyone can come and cheer for our team when we play. Hopefully, with the fans on our side, we can make a good game and win the match too.''
An estimated 750,000 blacks make up the population of Salvador, according to the latest census numbers.
It is expected that they will attend the match at Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova (Salvador, Bahia), meaning the Nigeria selection will be cheered to victory.
