Through a statement on the official website, French Ligue 2 club Stade de Reims have announced the signing of promising Nigerian defender Godwin Itotomi from Grassrunners FC in his homeland.
Described as a powerful centre-back, Itotomi has joined Reims Révélation on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
He earned a contract with the French club after impressing during a trial at the Raymond Kopa Training Centre, where he spent several days training with the reserve team.
Itotomi featured in matches against Paris Saint-Germain's U19 side and Eintracht Frankfurt, with his impressive performances securing him a place in the Reims reserve squad.
Reims believe they offer the ideal environment, both on and off the pitch, to help him adapt to European football and continue his development under the best possible conditions.
He is a product of the N-Youth League Cup, where he showcased his potential as a modern-day centre-back by scoring four goals in 22 appearances.
Itotomi could return to Africa in September 2026 when Reims Révélation take part in their first major tournament on the continent.
