Sunday Oliseh's former club interested in Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri

Borussia Dortmund have emerged as a potential destination for Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, with the Bundesliga giants continuing to assess their options for another attacking player, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Nwaneri is high on Dortmund’s list alongside former Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho as the German club considers adding another attacking option.

The 19-year-old has attracted significant interest after spending the second half of last season on loan at Marseille.

Dortmund have already done considerable work on Nwaneri and are understood to remain interested in bringing him to Germany.

However, Arsenal’s stance could determine whether a deal progresses. The Gunners are prepared to allow Nwaneri to leave on loan but currently want any move to be temporary and without a purchase option. It remains unclear whether Dortmund would accept those conditions.

Dortmund are not the only club monitoring the Arsenal youngster. RB Leipzig have also shown interest, while AC Milan and Fulham are among the other clubs linked with Nwaneri.

Galatasaray have also made contact over the midfielder, according to recent reports.

Arsenal’s preference for a loan represents a change from earlier reports that the club could consider a permanent sale. The current priority appears to be finding Nwaneri a destination where he can gain regular first-team football rather than immediately ending his Arsenal career.

Dortmund’s interest also carries a Nigerian connection through former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh spent five years with Borussia Dortmund between 2000 and 2005.

He made 53 Bundesliga appearances for the club and scored once, while helping Dortmund win the Bundesliga title during the 2001/02 season.
