Trabzonspor have warned Chibuike Nwaiwu to avoid picking up an unnecessary yellow card when they face Galatasaray at the Şenol Güneş Sports Complex on Saturday evening.
According to Sabah, Trabzonspor's technical staff have specifically cautioned the Super Eagles centre-back ahead of the Super Lig clash,
Nwaiwu has endured a difficult start to the new season from a disciplinary perspective and was forced to miss the second leg of Trabzonspor's Europa League qualifying tie against Ferencváros after being sent off in the closing stages of the first leg.
The 23-year-old heads into Saturday evening's Super Lig clash with Galatasaray under further disciplinary pressure as he is one yellow card away from triggering a suspension by the Turkish Football Federation after accumulating three bookings.
Nwaiwu was cautioned in three consecutive matches against Başakşehir FK, Amed SK and Gençlerbirliği.
Another yellow card against Galatasaray would rule him out of Trabzonspor’s first match after the international break, an away trip to Samsunspor.
Nwaiwu has been named in the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
