Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has been cleared to make his competitive debut for Ajax after being included in the club's 25-man squad for Thursday's UEFA Conference League third qualifying round clash against Shelbourne, as confirmed by UEFA on its official website.
The Nigerian forward joined Ajax from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan deal last week, with the Eredivisie club securing an option to make the move permanent at the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
The transfer brought Arokodare back to Dutch football after his stint in the Premier League with Wolves, where he scored six goals across all competitions during the 2025-26 season.
Arokodare initially missed Ajax's previous UEFA Conference League qualifier due to registration regulations after completing his move too late to be included in the squad for the tie against Vojvodina.
However, the 25-year-old has now been registered for the Conference League and is available for selection as Ajax begin another crucial European assignment.
The former Genk striker has already given Ajax supporters a glimpse of what he can offer after finding the net on his unofficial debut during the club's preparations following his arrival.
That early goal has further raised expectations ahead of what could be his first competitive appearance in the famous red-and-white shirt.
Arokodare enjoyed an outstanding spell at Belgian club Genk before earning his move to Wolves, finishing as the Belgian Pro League's leading scorer during the 2024-25 season.
Although opportunities were limited in England, his performances convinced Ajax to secure his signature as they strengthen their attack for the new campaign.
