Nigeria found it difficult to break through Banyana Banyana’s organised defensive structure, with most of their attacking moves coming from wide areas and set-pieces rather than well-worked team play.
The introduction of Folashade Ijamilusi provided more threat, as the forward repeatedly delivered dangerous balls into the box and won corner kicks. However, the lack of clear opportunities from open play made it difficult for Nigeria’s forwards to find the breakthrough.
