'A great striker - PSV boss impressed by Wolves loanee Arokodare's start at Ajax

PSV Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz has praised the impressive start made by Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare at Ajax, describing him as a “great striker” and admitting that his qualities are not yet fully known in the Netherlands.

Arokodare joined the Dutch giants on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window following a difficult spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers during the 2025/2026 campaign.

However, the Nigerian striker has quickly rediscovered his best form in the Netherlands, registering six goals and two assists in nine appearances across all competitions.

His impressive start to the season has played a key role in Ajax’s return among the leading sides in the Eredivisie, with the club currently occupying fifth position on the league table with 14 points.

Speaking in an interview with De Telegraaf, Bosz highlighted Ajax’s recruitment and specifically pointed to the signing of Arokodare.

"You can see that Ajax has strengthened itself enormously. They have focused on experience. A number of those players are doing very well," Bosz said.

"They have signed a great striker," he continues, referring to the Nigerian striker. "That is something we don't really know in the Netherlands."

Arokodare’s impressive start to the campaign earned him a recall to the Nigerian national team for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.

The Nigerian international will be keen to maintain his fine form when club football resumes following the conclusion of the international break.
