Barcelona join Arsenal, Chelsea in race for 15yo German-Italian-Nigerian midfielder at Dortmund

Spanish giants Barcelona have joined the growing list of European clubs monitoring tri-national teenage sensation Justin Ehikioya Ejodamen, who currently represents Borussia Dortmund's academy.

Ejodamen, who is eligible to play for Nigeria, Germany and Italy, has impressed with his performances for Dortmund's youth setup and the Italian youth national team.

His displays have attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus and AC Milan, while he has also earned comparisons with former Dortmund and current Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham.

He has earned comparisons with the England international due to his impressive skill set, technical ability, composure and style of play.

According to Sport, Barcelona have sent scouts on several occasions to monitor the 15-year-old's development during matches for Dortmund's U16 side and the Italian youth team.

Dortmund are reportedly keen to retain the promising midfielder, while his age means any potential international transfer will be subject to FIFA's regulations on minors.

Still only 15, Ejodamen cannot currently complete an international transfer due to FIFA regulations governing the movement of underage players.

However, FIFA rules provide certain exceptions for players aged between 16 and 18, meaning the Nigerian-Italian youngster could become eligible for a move under specific conditions once he reaches the required age.

With growing interest from several European giants, April 2027 could therefore prove crucial in determining Ejodamen's next career move as clubs continue to monitor his development.
