Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez has been named the most valuable player in Scotland, with his market value placed at £13.6 million (approximately N24 billion in Nigerian currency), according to Transfermarkt.
The Rangers centre-back retained top spot in the latest valuations, continuing a remarkable rise since his move to the Scottish Premiership from Peterborough United in July 2025.
Fernandez joined Rangers on a four-year contract, marking a significant step in his career after coming through Brentford’s system and spending time with Gillingham and Ramsgate before establishing himself at Peterborough.
The Nigeria centre-back initially had to wait for regular opportunities after arriving in Scotland, but his fortunes subsequently changed, and he became an important member of the Rangers side under Danny Rohl.
Fernandez’s performances for Rangers earned him his first senior Nigeria call-up in March 2026, marking his breakthrough into the Super Eagles setup.
His £13.6 million valuation now places him above Rangers teammates Youssef Chermiti and Nico Raskin, who are both valued at £12.7 million, while seven of Scotland’s 10 most valuable players are based at Ibrox.
