Aaron Samuel Confident Of Eagles Victory Against South Africa
Published: August 13, 2013
Sarpsborg 08 attacker Aaron Samuel is not losing sleep that he did not get the green-light from the Nigeria handlers to join the Super Eagles in South Africa.
The youngster only made the standby list, and might have journeyed to South Africa if any of the strikers in the roster - Victor Obinna, Ahmed Musa, Nnamdi Oduamadi and Shola Ameobi - had pulled out of the squad.
'' Of course, I would have loved to play this game, but I was not instructed by the coaches to fly to South Africa.
'' Making the standby list and getting this recognition from coach Stephen Keshi is massive. This has boosted my confidence.
'' I am certain my time will come in future. I just have to keep doing well for my club Sarpsborg 08.
'' I will be paying special attention to this game tomorrow. I wish the team luck and I am sure that the Eagles will defeat South Africa in their own backyard,'' says Aaron Samuel to allnigeriasoccer.com.
19 - year - old Aaron Samuel, who penned a three - year deal with Sarpsborg 08 last month, netted his debut goal for the Brian Deane led side in the penultimate round of matches in the Norwegian Premier League.
