Done Deal : Seyi Adeleke Replaces Sani Emmanuel At Biel-Bienne
Published: August 26, 2013
Former Under 20 National Team, Flying Eagles invitee, Seyifunmi Adeleke (New Amuneke) has finally found his way to Switzerland, as he commences a loan spell at lower division side, FC Biel-Bienne, which also had ex-under-17 national team, Golden Eaglets sensation, Sani Emmanuel in a similar deal last season.
The development means Adeleke is already being touted as a replacement for Sani, but with wider options, as the fair-skinned left-footed dreadlocks-wearing lad can line out as a winger, midfielder, attacker or left-wing-back, and Bienne are already seeing him as an ideal replacement for his compatriot.
Both players are currently on the cards of SS Lazio of Italy, but while Sani continues battling to finally seal his place in the Rome-based squad’s main team this term, Adeleke has opted to take another loan spell, which comes sequel to previous stints at Pergocrema and Salernitana in the Italian lower divisions.
Adeleke is rated one of Nigeria’s biggest left-footed prospects of the moment, had declared at the end of his summer holiday that he was heading back to Lazio with a view to make as big an impact in the squad as Africa Cup of Nations revelation, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi, who was rated behind Sani during Nigeria 2009 FIFA U-20 World.
However, now that he is heading out for action in the Swiss Challenge League, where he will line out with Biel-Bienne on loan for the rest of the season, ‘The New Amuneke,’ who is also fondly called Solari and Baby Ayana by childhood pals, is now setting sight on making top marks that will impress top-flight clubs in Switzerland.
''I was actually hoping to get into the first team of Lazio this season, but that is not going to be possible any longer, at least not until January,” said Adeleke, who is also angling for an invitation to the Super Eagles.
'' Before then, though, I want to create a big impact in Switzerland that will make my new club either want to sign me permanently or one of the big clubs in Switzerland, like Grasshoppers and Basel, will ask for my signature when the season finally ends.''
