Daniel Jacob Hailed As The Next Vincent Enyeama
Published: September 17, 2013
His composure, ball handling, positioning, reflexes, anticipation and awareness skills are simply superb, those were the words of the National U-13 team's goalkeeper trainer, Niyi Alao while commenting on his new discovery, Daniel Jacob from Kaduna state whom he said could develop to be the next Vincent Enyeama for Nigeria.
Alao, a former Eagle Cement goalkeeper, believes that Jacob’s talents cannot be mistaken, while also noting that ball handling is an obvious criterion for identifying a good goalkeeper.
“Good ball handling gives goalkeepers the ability and confidence to literally handle anything that their opponents send their way.
“Goalkeepers require great awareness, agility and positioning, also, Jacob’s ability to spring a fine reaction save is like a magician’s trick and I’m really impressed,” Alao concluded.
Daniel Jacob is an 11 year old JSS 1 student of Vick International School Kaduna.
He was discovered during the National U-13 championship played in Abuja last December and later invited to the national camp.
The National U-13 Team will on Wednesday September 18, 2013, round off their four-week camping exercise in Akure.
