Alarm Bells - John Ogu Now Inactive For 35 Days
Published: September 23, 2013
For the fourth straight game, Sérgio Conceição, manager of Primeira Liga side Académica de Coimbra, did not consider for selection Nigeria international John Ogu.
Against Nacional at the Estádio da Madeira on Sunday, the central midfielder, who spotted the number 30 jersey, was an unused substitute.
John Ogu has made just one appearance in the Portuguese championship in the ongoing season, playing for 11 minutes in the Students league opener against Gil Vicente back in August.
The elapsed time between his last action for Academica and September 22 is 35 days.
In the light of the foregoing, his place in the Super Eagles squad is obviously at risk.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the 25 - year - old’s profile was sent to a couple of Super League clubs in Turkey this summer, but his priority was to remain in Portugal with Académica.
He still has a contract with Académica until the summer of 2015.
