Vincent Enyeama Expects Nothing But Victory Against Ethiopia
Published: September 26, 2013
Lille custodian Vincent Enyeama is looking forward to the eagerly anticipated World Cup showdown between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Wayla Antelopes of Ethiopia on October 13.
The 32 - year - old is aware of the opponent’s pedigree as he was between the sticks when Nigerian beat them 2 - 0 in one of the group games at the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
Speaking to the online edition of Brila FM, Vincent Enyeama said : “It’s going to be an interesting game knowing what the Ethiopians can do.
“We’ve played them in recent times and we know that they have quality but we are just going to go there to represent our fatherland, the pride of the colours of the country and God willing, we’ll come out victorious.”
Albeit for one below par performance against Reims in week 2, the faithful Vincent Enyeama has been solid in Ligue 1, keeping four clean-sheets in his last five matches.
On a side note, in his last five games against African opposition, he only conceded in the World Cup qualifiers with Kenya and Namibia.
