Published: October 14, 2013
Representatives of some of the big European clubs are currently in the United Arab Emirates to run the rule over the Golden Eaglets players.
Nigeria are one of the favorites to win the Fifa Under 17 World Cup which kicks off on October 17, with Brazil trading tackles with Slovakia at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
After being assessed by the scouts, the players that impress are likely to be offered contracts with effect from January 2014.
“I have arranged for Anderlecht, VfB Stuttgart, Borussia Moenchengladbach, Chelsea and Red Bull Salzburg to scout our Eaglets during the U17 World Cup.
“We have already received our accreditation for the tournament. We will spend two weeks in the UAE and hope to sign the standout players,” Belgium based agent Klay Ekeocha told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Klay Ekeocha, an agent licensed by the Burkina Faso Federation, brokered the deal that took Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo to Standard Liege as well as ex Golden Eaglet Bright Osagie to Red Bull Salzburg.
