Exclusive: Clubs in Spain, Holland, Russia Go For Nigerian Neymar, Musa Yahaya
Published: November 14, 2013
Though he failed to win any individual accolade at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup staged at the United Arab Emirates, teams in Europe were encouraged by the display of 15 - year - old Musa Yahaya, who plies his trade for Mutunchi Academy in Kaduna.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that clubs in Ukraine, Russia, Holland and Spain are all keen on Yahaya, hailed in his homeland as the Nigerian Neymar.
The only bottleneck the clubs are likely to face in securing the signature of the talent is that the game’s governing body Fifa does not sanction international transfers for players below the age of 18 years.
To circumvent that rule, the clubs should be ready to invest. Yahaya’s biological parents must be ready to relocate to Europe and the buying team will have to assist in finding them jobs.
Musa Yahaya, who netted four times in seven matches at the Fifa Under 17s, is not labelled the Nigerian Neymar for nothing.
The midfielder is described as fast, skillful and a good dribbler who knows how to strike the balls from distance.
