John Chibuike About To Get Swedish Passport, May Play For National Team
Published: November 22, 2013
John Chibuike was a big hit for BK Hacken before he was sold to another Scandinavian club Rosenborg two years ago.
In the just concluded Norwegian Tippeligaen season, the 25 - year - old play-maker had limited playing opportunities at the start and he wanted to leave over the summer but the club were not willing to release him.
The midfielder then got his chance and impressed the handlers. Now, Chibuike is about to get a Swedish passport - to escape the strict work permit rules in Europe plus also play for the National Team.
Fotbolltransfers.com citing Fotbolldirekt.se quoted Marco Salvatore, the agent of Chibuike as saying :“Yes, it is true that he is about to get a Swedish passport.
“It can make it easier to move to certain leagues, including England, where there is interest in him. But also for any national team games.
“If the games in Sweden would be interesting? Yes, absolutely, if they show interest, he is open to it.”
John Chibuike netted 9 goals in 24 Premier League matches in the 2013 campaign.
