Kehinde Fatai : Romania Is An Option For Me
Published: January 12, 2014
Club Brugge forward Kehinde Fatai, 23, says he would love to play for the Nigeria National Team but will not turn down the chance to represent Romania if given an opportunity by the handlers.
Per Fifa rules and regulations, the attacker has not been capped by Nigeria at senior level and can switch allegiance to the East Europeans.
He is close to acquiring a Romanian passport and has been living in the country for the past six and a half years.
“Of course, it would be an honor to play in the World Cup with Nigeria.
“However, later, I can also become a Romanian international.
“I am sure Nigeria will do well in the World Cup. This is a talented team that will surprise many.
“Yes of course Romania is an option for me. This fall, I have dual nationality and the Romanian federation has approached me, the future will tell,’’says Kehinde Fatai to football365.com.
He represented Nigeria at the 2009 Fifa Under 20s held in Egypt, playing in group matches against Venezuela, Tahiti and Spain.
